"We Can Read is a group of volunteers teaching adults to read or improve their reading skills.
We give one-to-one sessions using the reading scheme ""Yes, We Can Read"". Sessions are always held in a public place, usually the library.
Our aims are to help people learn this vital life skill, to improve their confidence and self-esteem.
Volunteers must have the ability to read and a wish to pass on the joy of reading to others. No teaching experience or training is required.
- Ability to read and willingness to teach those who can not.
- Patience and empathetic with clients.
volunteers can help.
The Gosport and Fareham reading scheme is a fun phonics programme for learners with dyslexia or for anyone who has received inadequate reading tuition in the past.
We provide one-to-one reading coaching by volunteers, arranged at a time and frequency to suit both reader and coach.
The coaching takes place in a public area such as a library where facilities are available to us.
