Winchester Go LD enables local people with a learning disability and their families “To Live and to Thrive".
The charity supports over 80 people in the Winchester Area to access a wide range of events, including
- Monday afternoon tea,
- Tuesday Drop-In lunch
- Friday's Funky Lunch.
These provide a focus point for support, signposting and information, as well as peer support and enabling friends to access the community together. The volunteer roles are flexible and can fit around your other commitments.
We have a monthly social evening which is a lot of fun and we go to different places each month. This year has included a BBQ in the woods, bowling in Eastleigh, picnic and games in the park, karaoke, disco, theatre trips and much more.
We are looking for volunteers to help on some of these social occasions and other projects. Hours to suit.
You will be encouraging involvement in the activities; creating a happy environment and helping to keep everyone safe.
We are looking for people 18+ with empathy, good communication skills, patience and a sense of humour.
The ideal volunteer would need to be understanding, genuinely interested in people and their abilities and enjoy helping others.
