If you enjoy driving in your own car, and have some free time, would you like to be involved in your local community, and "Give Petersfield a Lift"? Drivers are insured under a group policy but just need to have it noted on their own car insurance that they are a volunteer driver. This comes free. You would also need to be DBS cleared (Disclosure and Barring Service) as you would handle the requested donations and sometimes be dealing with vulnerable people, seeing them into and out of their own homes.
Kindness, willingness, honesty, good driving skills. Sometimes you may be required to lift a folded walker or wheelchair and put it in your boot. However we do take drivers who can't manage this any longer. You may choose which drives you volunteer for to suit you. You may wish to do a regular drive or shopping or just the odd one occasionally, or as many as you wish.

Over 70 we recommend that the driver takes the HCC "Driver Skills Scheme" which we pay for.
