Trustee

Opportunity

We are recruiting trustees as we are currently expanding; we have ambitious plans to grow and add new services to take HRTC to the next level. Our turnover is approximately ú250K; we have 11 paid staff (8 FTEs) and over 100 volunteers supporting our aims, and a trustee board of 4 individuals currently.

HRTC is a wonderful, caring charity that combines horses, people from all spectrums of society, volunteers and fun to make a real difference to people's lives, especially those of children and young people.

Our aims at HRTC are:
? To provide instruction, enjoyment and fulfilment to all children and adults through horse-riding, inclusive of clients with life-time conditions such as physical disabilities and special needs, and other disadvantaged groups
? To combine activities as much as possible to encourage social integration, increase understanding and confidence through breaking down barriers
? To provide an individual learning environment for staff and volunteers wishing to progress a career in the horse world
? To provide a caring and fun environment

HRTC is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity.

The commitment we are looking for

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who want to make a difference and will commit to approximately 12 days per year. The Trustees meet 6 times a year in Eastleigh, Hampshire for informal, friendly and constructive meetings. We envisage that an additional 9 days' work will be required for advice, directly supporting our plans for expansion and new services, as well as attending events.

Ideally we would like candidates to be based in Hampshire. All reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed
