We are looking for Volunteer Bereavement Buddies / Listeners to come along to our bereavement cafes and to welcome bereaved people, chat with them and develop a friendship so that they know that they are not alone and that support is available for them.
Butterflies is an established bereavement support charity in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight providing bereavement cafes, support groups and other services to provide support for those bereaved recently or over the years.
We provide training and support for volunteers and they are very much part of our team.
We are looking for volunteers who can commit to two sessions a month on a rota basis and who are good listeners and can be compassionate.
Drive and enthusiasm to help us develop our activities for the benefit of bereaved people locally.
The willingness to learn new skills and to undertake additional training as needed
Not suitable for anyone who has been bereaved in the past 18 months.

When can I volunteer?
As from 7th January we are looking for volunteers for our Bereavement Support Cafe between 2-3pm in the coffee shop of Hilliers Garden Centre in Winchester.
