Barnardo’s Hampshire Healthy Families Service
Barnardo’s is passionate about creating safer childhoods, stronger families and positive futures. We have a team of volunteers interested in helping and supporting families and increasing healthy outcomes for children in Hampshire.
We are looking for creative and enthusiastic volunteers to join our team – you might already be working or volunteering in an early years setting, you might have young children and want to help develop groups or activities in your local community; you might be passionate about health and building positive futures for children and families or you might just want to give something back to your local community.
Your role might be to:
- help run a Ready Steady Mums group
- Help run health roadshows and other activities
- Support health visitors and families during clinic sessions e.g. set up and help run safe play activities
- Befriending to parents, carers who may find it difficult to access services
This is what a couple of volunteers have said about their volunteering role:
“I love interacting with the babies and mums/dads and I help the health visiting team by setting up the room, clearing away and doing whatever is required to free up their precious time and ensure a pleasant experience for parents and babies.”
“Volunteering allows me to use my professional skills to give back to the community. It has opened up opportunities that I had not realised I could take on in the volunteer sector.”
